The CPERL team is thrilled to shine our Alum Spotlight on Sabrin Rizk.

Since transitioning from her postdoctoral training phase to a tenure-track faculty member, Sabrin has built impressive momentum for fueling her child health services research program focused on understanding and improving cross-sector care for children with Autism through a series of grants from campus, private foundation, and federal sources. She secured campus funding to complete a project designed during her postdoctoral phase, looking at factors related to referrals to health screenings and developmental assessments for young children in child care and early childhood educational environments. In a second line of research funded by an AOTF Health Services Research pilot grant, Sabrin is working on a study utilizing electronic health records for the surveillance of referral making processes in medical home primary care for children and youth on the autism spectrum. Now, she has just received her first federal grant from the 2025 Autism Secondary Analysis Program, funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, Health Resources & Services Administration!

We congratulate her for modeling the way as she continues to progress as an Assistant Professor on the tenure track in occupational therapy. We are so proud and wish her continued scientific success!
