CPERL Welcomes Ashley Huang to Our Team

Introduction

We started off the summer season right with a new team member! We welcome Ashley Huang to the CPERL team!

Ashley is an honors undergraduate majoring in neuroscience and pursuing minors in nutrition and finance, with guaranteed admission to our medical school following graduation. Ashley is partnering up with Huda Syed, another honors undergraduate majoring in Computer Science, to try and further automate the classification of a subset of data to fine tune the design of an application that is under development. This work extends two phases of prior work undertaken with the involvement of honors undergraduates and is supported by supplemental funding specific to creating meaningful research experiences within our active NSF-funded project.

Ashley and Huda will be co-mentored by PhD in Computer Science student Gyeongeun and our Vivian, drawing inspiration from our lab alum Vera who paved the way for annotation adventures just like this to fuel our summer of science!
