CPERL Welcomes PhD Students

Headshots of Madison and Yebin

We are excited to welcome two new Graduate Research Assistants and PhD students, Madison and Yebin, to the CPERL team! Both bring valuable clinical expertise and a shared passion for advancing equitable, family-centered pediatric rehabilitation through rigorous research.

Madison joins CPERL as a PhD student in Rehabilitation Sciences at UIC. Prior to her PhD, Madison received her M.Ed. in Sports & Exercise Science from the University of Minnesota and her M.S. in Occupational Therapy from Chang Gung University. At CPERL, Madison will be using electronic health record documentation to better understand and improve care transitions for families of infants in the NICU. Additionally, she will contribute to ongoing studies examining family-centered care experiences in follow-up systems such as early intervention.

Yebin also joins CPERL as a PhD student in Rehabilitation Sciences at UIC, bringing a strong background in pediatric clinical practice. Yebin received both her M.S. and B.S. in Occupational Therapy at Yonsei University. While on the CPERL team, Yebin will focus on evaluating the PEM+ application as a scalable digital tool to support participation-focused service design in early intervention. She will also assist with related mixed-methods projects examining family-centered care across pediatric rehabilitation systems.

We are thrilled to have Madison and Yebin on board as they relocate to Chicago, begin their PhD journeys, and contribute their skills and perspectives to the lab's growing body of work.

Welcome, Madison and Yebin!
