Andrea and Briana awarded AOTF scholarships

Hard work does pay off! Andrea and Briana have been awarded merit-based scholarships on behalf of the American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF) for their contributions as students to the OT profession.  They are two of the three UIC students who were awarded AOTF scholarships in this cycle.

They applied for these scholarships back in 2017 and waited for close to a year to hear the results. Briana received the first Illinois Occupational Therapy Association Endowed Scholarship at $500 and Andrea received the Mary Minglen Memorial Scholarship at $1,500. The funds are not project specific, but rather enable them to defray qualified tuition and educational expenses for their MS/OTD programs of study.

"It's always nice to be recognized nationally for what we do.  However, 'it takes a village', and we are so appreciative for the support and efforts from our advisor, Dr. Khetani, as well as departmental and lab members towards our work and these awards.

Onwards and upwards!
