Andrea publishes and is featured as an inspiring graduate

Andrea Gurga, our most recent MS/OTD alum, has successfully disseminated on part of her OTD project via a video published on the CanChild website. This video highlights Andrea's innovative use of knowledge translation and visualization strategies to optimize e-report yields for parents who complete an electronic participation-focused assessment adopted by the program. She successfully partnered with colleagues at our esteemed community partner, Blue Bird Day, to harness provider feedback to optimize the YC-PEM electronic report.

Andrea was recently recognized as one of three featured UIC inspiring graduates for working with dedication on her doctorate while taking care of her mom, who was diagnosed with cancer, by serving as her advocate. It was a delight to celebrate with her and her family at a university-sponsored luncheon following December commencement. Andrea is now employed as an occupational therapist by Blue Bird Day, and we look forward to continued collaboration!
