CanChild Contract Renewed

CPERL is thrilled to announce the renewal of our sponsored contract with CanChild! This funding will continue to support research and development activities in our lab over the next year to foster scientific innovation and the application of those innovations to develop and enhance products within the CanChild portfolio.

The scope of work and the team assembled in this renewal are particularly meaningful to CPERL, as they both align with our continued efforts to building an anti-racist research lab.  The work will focus on Amplifying Assessment of Racial Equity through the Participation and Environment Measures, and Mary will continue to serve as PI while Vivian takes the stage as Co-I, as part of her new role of Research Specialist within the lab.

This is another example of CanChild's positive impact in reinvesting PEM revenue to grow and diversify scholarly capacity in childhood disability research, by sponsoring trainees to formally engage in and deliver on sponsored projects as part of their programs of study. This has ranged from funding projects for degree completion (e.g., funding an undergraduate to complete her honors capstone, funding Vivian's doctoral project), to providing co-investigator opportunities for a postdoctoral fellow and research specialist, to funding paid opportunities for talented and committed students (e.g., funding an honors undergraduate, funding a graduate research assistant in our lab who is pursuing an MS in Management Information Systems).
