CPERL and NLP attend and present at NSF PI meeting
Our NSF team travels to Music City! The CPERL and NLP labs kicked off the Spring 2024 semester at the NSF Smart and Connected Communities Principal Investigators' Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee.
The NSF Smart and Connected Communities (S&CC) Principal Investigators' Meeting is a time for project teams to come together to share advancements to their work. All S&CC projects work to "advance understanding of our cities and communities to improve their functioning and quality of life within them through innovations in computing, engineering, information and physical sciences, social, and learning sciences". Natalie and Mary partnered to create a recorded lightning talk about our project scope and progress to date. Vivian had the opportunity to present a poster about recent upgrades to the Young Children's Participation and Environment Measure (YC-PEM). This poster was based on our recent publication that details historically minoritized caregivers’ responses to revised YC-PEM content modifications and their perspectives on core intelligent virtual agent functionality needed to improve its reach for equitable service design.
This was a wonderful venue to close out the first leg of our NSF dissemination circuit. We look forward to using the new virtual community connecting PIs and collaborators across NSF-funded projects to share project updates and build new connections throughout the remainder of our project!
