CPERL welcomes Sarah Ahmed as its first team member at UIC!

Sarah is completing her third year at UIC as a kinesiology major and psychology minor. She aspires to be a pediatric occupational therapist and has joined the CPERL team to obtain her first research experience prior to applying to graduate school.

Since joining CPERL in January, Sarah has been kept busy attending to the many tasks associated with transferring ongoing research from CSU to UIC. She has been helping with IRB submissions, setting up lab equipment, and interviewing prospective team members.

Sarah is also a recipient of a Chancellor’s Undergraduate Research Award (CURA). Once IRB approved, Sarah will be supporting completion of a formative study related to characterizing PEM+ care planning guide. She will be analyzing content from transcribed phone interviews with caregivers in order to confirm preliminary study results and identify exemplars that will support peer publication of this formative phase of work.
