Imprints

Sometimes we go about our day-to-day work not fully realizing our imprint in the lives of our colleagues, particularly the youngest ones amongst us. Today, we congratulated our undergraduate team members Heather and Sarah for completing their respective research immersions in our lab, and we reflected together on their contributions to helping rebuild CPERL in Chicago this past year. While they primarily focused on helping to conduct qualitative analyses and write-up of a study that is foundational to CPERL Area #3, they were both invited to engage in a broad range of research-related activities that help to move a broader program of work forward. During our lab retreat today, they each shared how these early research experiences, particularly opportunities to work on 'side' projects with the rest of the team, gave them deep satisfaction in their work. They each shared how these formative experiences have impacted how they think about their future careers in occupational therapy. For the part they shared with us, we are most thankful.
