Mary Receives the Capstone Supervisor of the Year Award

We are excited to announce that Mary was awarded the 2021-2022 Capstone Supervisor of the Year! This is an annual award given to one faculty member for their remarkable commitment to mentorship of Honors College Students, as they design and complete their Honors Capstone projects. Here at CPERL, Mary fosters a “be a mentor and mentorable” mindset to team members, as we can all grow and learn from one another.

Mary was nominated for this award by CPERL team member Julia, Mary’s latest mentee to successfully complete and present their capstone project at the Applied Health Sciences (AHS) Undergraduate Impact and Research Week. Throughout this experience, Julia shares “Dr. Khetani is a mentor who is purposeful with her mentoring techniques and continuously challenges you to strive to be better. Her mentorship, braveness, compassion, and patience has brought me to where I am today and I owe a lot of my successes to her as she gave me the opportunity to be uncomfortable, step out of my comfort zone, and grow.” We congratulate Mary for this outstanding award and thank her for her endless encouragement and mentorship of all lab members.
