New project art marks

With the start of two new projects kicking in, we needed a new art mark that would communicate the importance of families, participation in childhood activities, and technology use in these projects. Through iStock, team member Naba found some images that seemed viable if modified. The iStock artist modified the image and uploaded it to iStock, but collaborators and team members agreed that the image did not fully capture all desired elements, including family dynamics and technology use.

In true team fashion, Mary made contact with the biomedical visualization department at UIC while Marya made contact with UIC publications. Soon after, Christina Sidorowych, a biomedical visualization student at UIC, was identified. She agreed to design the art marks and worked quickly to generate mock-ups for review. We were blown away by her work (see above) as it captured all three aspects we aspired for, and was enhanced by her contemporary style and eye for creative design. Thank you, Christina!

In research, not all things go as planned. In this case, it was for the better as we landed a rewarding interdisciplinary collaboration between occupational therapy and biomedical visualization. We had such a good experience that we have finalized plans for further collaboration in the near future. Stay tuned!
