Shivani Secures Honors College Grant

And the streak continues! Shivani has been awarded the Honors College Undergraduate Research grant funded by UIC's Honors College. This grant supports Honors Capstone Activities and encourages students to continue undergraduate research in scientific or humanities studies in a successful manner. She is the fourth lab member to have been given this grant.

Shivani joined CPERL in May 2022 and has made significant progress as an undergraduate researcher mentored by Vera Kaelin and Mary Khetani. Her capstone focuses on the resources caregivers rely on and steps caregivers take to create participation-focused strategies in community settings for children and youth with craniofacial microsomia. This grant will encourage Shivani's completion of her capstone this year as it contributes to the broader research agenda in CPERL and inspires her plans to continue research as she progresses through her career. The CPERL team is very excited to see what she accomplishes in the future!
