Reconnecting with CPERL Alum Dianna Bosak

Dianna Bosak shares her powerpoint presentation during lab meeting

Our team was honored to have our alum, Dianna Bosak, join our lab meeting earlier this fall to talk about and get feedback on her journey post CPERL. Dianna led a quality presentation to us through her history with CPERL, what she has accomplished since joining Boston University's entry-level OTD program with a research assistantship in the Kids in Context lab, and where she is at in her decision-making around the scope of her OTD capstone project.

She engaged us in thinking things through with respect to whether she should pursue a project focused on entrepreneurship or one that is focused on family-focused provider training. We discussed the importance and availability of mentorship could be relevant to advancing one or both options. Dianna shared that she still wants to build a research-engaged career, and now has an emerging interest in focusing her career in mental health, with a keen interest in serving veterans and their families. We therefore also discussed how both capstone options, coupled with her prior work to advance tools for family-centered pediatric care, could allow her to build translatable skills for this chosen career path.

No matter which path she chooses, we see Dianna continuing to represent CPERL values of innovation and teamwork. She has great ideas and an even greater passion for engaging in research to advance those ideas, and we could not be more excited to hear what path she chooses and accomplishes next. We are most grateful for her taking the time to mentor her colleagues along the way, particularly those with different identities but similar uncertainties about career path. Engaging CPERL alum to mentor across differences and in ways of mutual benefit advances action step #4 of our anti-racist action plan. Stay tuned for more!
